ATI Driver install shell runs on startup

Everytime I start windows xp, I get a ATI Driver install
shell that runs and it errors out if I try to complete it
with wrong card or driver. This is not something I started
to install, I have a ATI 9600 pro card and drivers are
installed and all work fine. How this started I don't
know, I can't get rid of it, it's like xp starts it every
time I restart. Any suggestions or ideas would be
appreciated

It's not loading thru "automatic updates" is it?
If you have that turned on, I'd disable it, at least
until you get this sorted.
Right click "my computer"/properties/automatic updates.

start> Run> type "msconfig" ok, check start tab to see if
it's in the startup line up, uncheck if it is, ok ATI
does have a console.
