ATI 9600XT Video-out

Jan Berg

Hello,

I hope, somebody here can help me. I've got an ATI 9600XT with video-out. I
plugged the video-out in my television and got no problems so far. I can see
the Windows Desktop and also 3D-Games, like Doom 3, on my Television. But if
i play a video-file (*.mpg) with the Windows Media Player, or WinDVD, I cant
see this on my television, just a black screen inside the border of the
media player.

What I am doing wrong?

Thank you,
Jan

You need to either clone the display or set it as the primary.

Conor,

thank you for this comment, but I already did this.
Else I would see nothing on the tv, I'm right?
But I see anything (desktop, games a.s.o.) on the tv,
except video-files (mpg, mpeg, avi...).

Of course I see the video-files on my computer monitor,
but not on the tv.

Thank you,
Jan

No. You can have both displays turned on but video files will only show on
the primary display. You must already be familiar with the "advanced" and
"displays" tabs, so I assume you have the TV display turned on. Th primary
display is controlled by the little blue box inside the display boxes.
Press the bullseye (left) blue box and your TV becomes the primary. Then
you will get a black screen in place of video on your monitor and the video
will play on your TV.

Thank you (and all others) very much! It's working now.

Gerald Todd.

Wrong I get Video on both TV and Monitor 1 output, using theatre mode
The secondary output (tv or 2nd monitor doesn't matter) is always fullscreen
video even when the main monitor has any media player windowed or
minimized. That's an option BTW not default.
