Since a couple of days ago when I reboot and Windows loads towards the end of the windows loading a splash screen appears in Quikview plus viewer for this file

dxdllreg.exe

Do I need this file to be run every time? I see that is run from the "Start" folder and from Microsoft's Dll data base I find it is part of DirectX of which version 9.0b is running on my system.

John,

Doing a Yahoo search on "dxdllreg.exe", I get a number of articles.
This one may be of help to you:

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Chuck,

Thanks very much, that did fix the problem.

Rather strangely I now get a message at the end of the windows loading from Apple Quick Start that a disk cannot be found in my computer. Thus refers to the Iomega 250 zip drive which automatically ejects when I shutdown the computer. So now I get a reminder to push it back in - it is behind the front panel of the computer - which is a good thing.

Thanks again for your prompt help.

Jon
