Asus SK8N shutdown problem

Hi,
I just built a Athlon 64 FX-51 on an Asus SK8N bios 1.3, using 1 gig
Corsair DDR 400 registered RAM. OS is XP Pro SP 1a. Build went fine, I have
the latest nVidia 3.13 Forceware drivers and a GF FX 5950 video card with
latest drivers from the Unified forceware 3.13 pack, I think their WHQL
52.16. My problem is this. The system boots rapidly and is rock solid,
however when I go to shut it down or re-boot the blue waiting for system to
shut down screen displays and at times stays for 2-3 minutes. It then will
shut down ok. I have no firewire or USB devics attached. My last system was
built around a Athlon XP 3200+ on an MSI NForce 2 delta board, I did not
have this problem. Any help is appreciated and desperately needed.

The 52.16 driver is known to be buggy. You might try a newer or older
driver version.

For those that care, I traced the slow shutdown problem to the installation
of the nVidia IDE controller driver in Forceware Unified 3.13. I did a fresh
install of XP Pro with the drivers on the asus website for the board but
declined the IDE install.
