Asus My Cinema software install problem

Trying to install software of Asus My Cinema P7131 T/V-FM tuner in XP-Pro
SPB. I get a msg. to the effect that the OS is not compatabile and may not
operate properly if installed, contact Microsoft. This is a new install of XP
after my first build. That being the case I did not continue with the
install. Any ideas, suggestions or tips before I use 1 of my 2 free calls
would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Is the message is actually that the software is not *signed*? If so,
that's not necessarily an indication of impending disaster. Many drivers
are not signed and function properly.

What is the exact text of the message?

thanks for the reply Patrick:

I believe it does say something along those lines. Will get back with the
exact wording in about 1/2 hour.

Most install guides will explicitly mention the "unsigned driver" message if
it applies - they know about it - and tell you to proceed.

the wording is that "the software has not passed Windows Logo testing to
verify its compatability with WindowsXP.

continuing with install may impair of destabilize correct operation of
system either immediatley or in the future. MS strongly recommeds that you
stop install and contact the h/w vendor for software that has passed..."

sorta sounded like a warning similar to a lack of signing, but the strong
recommed part was ominous enogh to scare me off. LOL!

Thanks much again Patrick.

You'll almost certainly see this dialog mentioned in the installation
instructions. It's quite normal for companies to not submit drivers to MS
for logo testing.
Thanks much again Patrick.

Most welcome!
