Asus A8N-SLI Delux

Anyone have an Asus A8N-SLI Delux motherboard running under Vista (RTM) 64
bit? I have a few devices that are not functioning due to driver issues.
Anyone have this boards and all drivers running under Vista 64? I think 32
wil work fine... just not 64.

I've had RC1 64-bit running without any problems with that M/B.

Device Manager shows 3 unknown devices but everything works...I have no
idea what they are! (I don't use Firewire and only the Nvidia LAN).
Originally I had problems with the onboard sound but that was fixed by a
driver upgrade .

The only problem I have is with my bluetooth dongle!

Thanks. I can't recall exactly what the devices are (I'm not at that
machine now) that are not working as per device manager. But, I'm sure a
few of them were communications devices that I need running. I'm
considering going back to 32 bit (assuming Vista 32 will get them going).
I'm not sure there really is a benefit of running 64 vs 32.

I have an Asus A8N-SLI (non deluxe type).
I had three unknown devices in device manager.
One of them was ATK100 (some ACPI thing) that was solved in rc2 x64 via
Windows update.
Driver can also be found in the Vista subfolder of ASUS AiBooster
installation files.

The remaining two were the midi port and the gampeport (old joystick port).
Joystick port is no longer supported as of Windows XP x64 and you will find
no driver for Vista, wheter 32-bit or 64-bit.
I just disabled both ports in BIOS and lived happily ever after.

So, no unknown devices in Vista x64 on ASUS A8N-SLI, bios 1014.

It has two NICs, nVidia and Marvell Yukon. I just installed Vista rtm and
it installed the driver for nVidia (the RC versions installed the Marvel
Yukon driver). One of the devices might be the YK. I have two unknown
devices but everything is working so I am not too concerned. You need the
device id to research what the device is. You can find it on one of the
tabs on the device property page (right click on the unknown device in
Device Manager and select Properties).

I have P5N32-Sli Deluxe and I do not have thi folder.
Where can I get it?

installation files.
Download (telecharger) the latest AiBooster from here:
ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5N32-E%20SLI/AIBooster_V20307.zip
Unzip the file.
Go to the ACPI64 folder (or ACPI if running x86 Vista).
Below that you will have the WINVISTA folder.
There you will find the files for installing the hardware.

Same way as mine does, VISTA has some nvidia and other drivers built in.
1. I never had to install"SATA"drivers when I installed Vista because there
are no "SATA"drivers for Vista other than built in ones.
2.Graphics card drivers, only beta for RC1/RC2 but Vista has built in
drivers.
3.There are no nVidia chipset drivers for Vista RTM yet.
4. Vista has some NIC and other drivers built in.
Only drivers I had to install were Creative X-Fi beta ones.

There IS an nVidia driver for the NIC in the rtm edition that was not
present in any earlier build. That is what my box is now using for
connectivity. All the pre-release builds used the Marvel Yukon NIC. I
noticed it first when migrating an XP virtual machine from my XP Pro x64
partition to the Vista x64 partition. I had to change the NIC in the vm's
settings from Marvel Yukon to nVidia to get the vm onto the internet.

Incorrect.

The A8N-E that I have uses just an nVidia NIC built into the nForce4
chipset. The Marvel NIC on your board is in addition to the chipset
interface (dual NICs). The nVidia NIC has been supported since at
least Beta2 when I joined the fray, and has been there ever since.

On my board, the only two devices that did not have drivers included
with Vista were the audio and ATK. Windows update installed both
drivers after installation.

I Know there are SOME nVidia drivers in RTM.
My nic used the BUILT in nVidia driver even in RC1 and RC2.

The A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard has 2 onboard NIC, usually with Asus one
will be Nvidia and the other Marvell-Yukon. The A8N-E motherboard only has
one NIC which is Nvidia.
