HI,

I recently did a SEARCH and as .mpg files came up in the
search results list, a program (MGI VideoWave 4) that is
no loonger installed on my computer attempted to load.
My guess is that .mpg files are somehow associated with
VideoWave. I no longer have the VideoWave disks. Can
anyone tell me how to unassociate .mpg files with
Videowave or how to remove BVideoWave from my system
without the disks (which contained the uninstall info)?

Thanks.

Ross

Approach it by associating them with something else, like Windows Media
Player. Run that Start - All Programs - Accessories - Entertainment -
Windows Media Player if you do not have an icon in QuickLaunch. In its
Tools Menu (note if you cannot see the full window with Menus then
click the tiny box in top left corner). In Options - File Types, check
off 'Movie File (mpeg)' and any other types you want to play with it,
and Apply - OK

In Search you can right-click an .mpg file and choose "open with". A
list should come up. Select an option that is on your system, or
browse to media player, and designate it as the association for all
..mpg files. You can change again later in the same way..
