Assigning tasks in BCM 2007

I may have misunderstood the demo on the 2007 BCM product, but apparently I
am missing something. I have created a sample project, with a series of
tasks. Using the "Assigned to:" drop down in the Task screen, I randomly
distributed these tasks among staff, requesting an alert at various times on
various days. However, no one gets these alerts, but they can see the tasks
on their personal calendars if they check them. I do get all of these alerts
at the chosen times, but this does little good if I am expecting someone else
to do the task. Is there something wrong with how I am creating and assiging
these tasks? -DG-

I suspect the alerts are something you add in your local Outlook and
are not a part of the project itself. If you want to share a deadline
with other, create an appointment, set a reminder in the appointment,
and send the appointment to the people you want to get reminded.
