Assigning Task via Email

Using Project 2000 I have emailed a task to a resource.
My book says that the recipient should open the message,
reply and the task will then be listed in their Outlook
task list.

I can not open the task. If I double click the
attachement the system will not recognize the MXM
extension. What do I need to do so I can double click
this item and have it added to my task list?
