assigning functions/commands to gamepad buttons

On the recommendation of my PC Supplier I have installed a Logitech Wingman
Extreme Gamepad for playing FIFA 2004. I am totally new to the use of
gamepad, even though it appears correctly configured in the Control Panel.

Could any experienced user of gamepads for playing soccer advise a reference
or give some guidelines on the assignment of the 10 button combinations
available with the Wingman Extreme gamepad?

Hi P Jayant,

Usually the buttons are pre-assigned by the game
however if you have to assign them yourself, you
should assign the most important actions on the
easier to reach buttons and for the rest, go with
what you're most comfortable with. If you would
