I have difficulties to have one computer to be visible to other computers. It is
running xp and I've assigned the computer name (ABC) to the dmz zone on the
router.
Other computers in the same network still cannot access the ABC's hd either
directly or via ftp. Any pointers to what I could do?

I assume the DMZ PC has a different network address than the rest of your
network. Add the route to the DMZ PC in your hosts file in C:\Windows
\System32\drivers\etc
