assigned password when upgrading from 98

Hi,

I upgrading my desktop from 98 to XP Professional, but XP
assigned a random password to my user account, so I
cannot log on. I researched this problem in the
knowledge base, but the suggested solution (to search for
the randomly assigned password in the setupact.log file)
did not work. Anyone solve this problem before?

Pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete, twice, at the Pro Welcome screen will allow using
the default "Administrator" ID, which might have a blank password. (Homne
edition sees default "Administrator" in Safe mode ---- F8 during restart)

The User Accounts app in control panel will allow the admin to change any
users password.

Windows does not and never has assign passwords on its
own. Try leaving the password field blank when logging on.

Hi,

I tried using Administrator and a blank password to log
on, but it didn't work. I also tried starting in Safe
Mode, but that also didn't work. Thanks for your help,
and any other suggestions would be appreciated.
