Probably a simple question if you know what you are doing.

I have two computers.

Computer A, Windows XP Home, SP2, Connected directly to the internet
(Broadband) acts as an internet gateway for computer B.

Computer B, Windows XP Home, Connected to computer A via a cable and through
this connection to the internet.

File sharing both ways and a printer connected to computer A, which computer
B prints too.

I have run set up home networking wizard on both computers and all works
fine.

However can anyone tell me in simple terms how to assign a particular IP
address to computer B, so everything still works?

Computer A always has 192.168.0.1 but computer B is assigned an IP at
random, so it has a different one each time.

Many thanks

To allow Computer B to access the Internet through Computer A, assign
it these TCP/IP values:

IP Address: 192.168.0.x (1<x<255)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.0.1
DNS Server = 192.168.0.1 or your ISP's DNS server

How do I find out my ISP's DNS server?

Shane,

Computer A will have the addresses of the ISP DNS servers (if it's using the
internet successfully). From Computer A, Start - Run - "cmd". In the command
window, "ipconfig /all".
