assembly versions

Hi all,

Can I have 2 versions of an assembly loaded in the GAC? i.e. 1.0.0.0 and
2.0.0.0. Also, if this is possible, can I have certain web applications use
the 1.0 version and certain web apps use the 2.0 version? If yes, how can I
do this?

TIA!

Yes

Sure, just reference the version you want to use in each application.

Yes, the assemblies are identified with assembly name, version. If it is
strong named, it is also identified with culture and public key token. So
if you add reference to the certain assembly, and the certain version
exists on the target machine, it will load that version.
