asrock motherboard K7vm3 Problem

Here's my problem, the board is about 4 months in this computer. All is well
with one exception I have a sound blaster live in the pci slot that quit on
me. So I got a new one and put it into the same slot for it has only one
other one and I can't use it because the video card takes up too much room.
Anyway with the sound card installed the computer will not boot, I have
dumped the CMOS several time in a effort to reset the system and that
doesn't seem to work. All other parts of the motherboard work just fine
including the on board which will not work with my mike.Anyone ever heard of
a motherboard working just fine except for the pci slots.?

P.S. The Sound Card works fine in my other computer.

Any difference if you disable the onboard audio?

remove the card - boot to safe mode - remove all MS or creative sound
instances in 'sound video and game controllers'
and from add remove programs - shut down - install card- reboot to normal-
let windows reinstall drivers

MAKE SURE THE OB SOUND IS DISABLED FROM BIOS.
