Hi there people, wondering if you could help me out,

Yesterday my computer froze as i removed my ethernet cable from the
back, so i pressed restart. When the computer came back on it would
freeze on the windows xp loading screen, after several more restarts
the situation seemed to get worse. when i started up the computer in
safe mode the screen was scrabled with just primary colours and black
and white lines. So i decided to restart again. This time, nothing! the
monitor couldnt recieve a signal.
So i guessed must be the ati radeon graphics card? i removed it and
plugged the monitor into the normal vga port on the back of the
computer. This allowed me to see the bios screen and on restarting the
computer it tries to look for the hard drive and says not found! and
basically just sits there asking for a boot disk, i put in the asrock
cd that comes with it and nothing happens. is there a way to master
reset the motherboard or do u think the motherboard is dead?

thanks people

Pull the power cord out and find and use the,"Clear CMOS" jumper and
then try again.
HTH :)

Hi,

Had a similar problem once. REPLACE all the IDE/SATA cables, cost you
about $10 and then try again. Sometimes a cable goes bad.

Good Luck

Thanks HTH that sounds like a good idea, any idea where id fine the
clear cmos jumper? i will also give that new cable a go THANKS GREAT
HELP!
