Aspi layer for XP?? where?

I have a CDRW and a CDR, yes seperate I/O channels thanks for asking,
updated Windows (Oh WHY do I do this?) to XP Pro and "presto" converted to 2
cheap ass Cd readers. The aspi layer from the 9x install was removed by the
installer for the XP replacement but I guess it must have slipped it's
'mind?'. I just know that if I attempt to start the 9x version of winaspi
it's gonna shit itself.
Is there anyone who's not gonna say "go to winupdate and **** it up
properly" and who is gonna say something like "you'll find (a file) on this
(site/cd) that you can .......
Because as we all know, you can't run a burner without an aspi layer.
