I using Vistas Prem/IE7.I removed the Norton Program and using the 2007 Micro
Trend Antivirus and Spyware download.I will use the Vistas firewall along
with the router firewall.I noticed in my programs installed there are 2
programs there,(Live Update 3.2(Symantec Corporation) also Line Update
Notice(Symantec Corporation).I realize that Norton is owned by Symantec
Corporation. My question is can I remove these without interfering with my
regular updates from Microsoft on security and other Vistas updates? In other
words do they really need to be there and removing will not harm my receiving
Micro's updates? This is my first computer and I'm still
learning!Thanks,overtimeman

Hello,

if there are no programs by Symantec that are in use at your computer, you
can safely remove those entries.

Those items can be safely removed if you're not using and have already
removed any other Symantec/Norton products. They have no affect upon
Vista's Windows Update.
