Stop it already with that "under the hood" propaganda!

No body cares a heck what is under the hood when thay cannot use the
operating system as it should be used..\

what is UNDER the hood!

You truly enjoy making a fool out of yourself in public don't you?

All computers run at the same speed. with the power off ;)

The ones at the equator are doing ~1000mph, the ones at the poles are doing
zero mph (relative to the Earth).

Actually, they are all going 67000 mph (orbit around the sun), more or less,
not counting the speed of our galactic orbit, and the speed of the galaxy
itself.... :) We're all hauling ass always!

Relative to the earth?

No, relative to the earth they are going 0 mph, if they stay in the
same place on the earth.

When a person is told 'you don't know' or similar, and responds with
'neither do you', it is an absolute indication the person is completely
unsure of himself/herself. You were told and you responded with neither do
you. You have absolutely no knowledge of me whatsoever. But I have some
knowledge of you. The comment you made concerning IBM which was so far off
base as to being ridiculous. Shows a lot.

Well no, not if you take the speed of the Earth at the centre.

I've got a computer with a dual boot, Windows XP Pro and Ubuntu, which
was totally free, and faster (plus, no virus/malware issues). The
only reason I need XP is because some gaming sites only allow a
download of their software; with an .exe file; otherwise, I would just
use Ubuntu. It takes a little while to get used to and learn about,
which is why most people won't install it any time soon.

Not to mention that "Ubuntu" sucks donkey balls and is ugly as hell, AND
has the ugliest, stupidest name in the history of product naming.

Sorry Unknown, love to hang round but like everyone else other than you, I have
better things to to, keep caching the off base though, you seem to have a knack
for it. Just raises a rhetorical question, maybe next time. Don't concern yourself
in reading meaning into responses, and indications in a newsgroup. I am pleased
you know something about me, I have absolutely no interest in you. I leave you
with the interpretation of this response

I'm quite sure that Microsoft's 'Vista' of their latest operating system
was quite different from what their userbase is thinking, too.
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=vista

"Ubuntu is an African word meaning 'Humanity to others', or 'I am what I
am because of who we all are'" -
http://www.ubuntu.com/products/WhatIsUbuntu

The name however has nothing to do with the usability, looks, function,
etc. of the OS itself; in fact most if not all things can be changed to
your heart's content in Ubuntu, whereas Windows Vista out of the box is
pretty limited in options.
None of it however is on topic. :)
