Arrange by folder

Please can someone help me. I need to find out why the folder option is
greyed out under View\arrangeby.

As I understood if i do a search on multiple folders (sub folders) for an
item that i shoudl be able to arrange the results by folders.

If somebody knows the answer please please help!

That's only available for Search Folders. You can however add the Folder
column to your view and then sort on it. You'll notice that the View->
Arrange By-> Folder is ticked then as well (but still greyed out).
