Arhieved emails creating duplicate copies

I achieved my emails in outlook but instead in created duplicate copies. It
did not move the messages to the achieve folder but instead copy the
messages to the achieve folder. How do I correct this?

You first: what version of Outlook and how EXACTLY have you configured
archiving?

Outlook 2000. First I archieved my emails by doing the normal archieve way.
File/Archieve/Choose date. However, the emails that I achieved now shows up
still in my inbox and in my achieve folder.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of what would be doing this. Archive
either moves or deletes. Perhaps someone else may be able to suggest an
answer.
