Arg, stupid byte sizes

After taking pictures from my digital camera and making
them smaller in size the byte size is still really large,
and I'm having trouble making the picture smaller. Any
advice??

Use a decent photo editing application to resize the pic, save the file as
jpeg. If the photo editing package is ok then it should offer different
compression ratios on jpegs.
