I drudge for a huge multi-national company.
I moonlight night shift as computer operator, and found the
enterprise edition discs on a shelf, and tried to copy them.
[Windows X-ray papa, Office MMIII, Office MMVII]
All gave read errors. I tried on two different workstations,
and there were no scratches on these discs.
I have copied retail/OEM/upgrade/student products many times
before.
So do Microsoft put errors in unused sectors to deter
clone copying of more valuable stuff?

What is you motive for copying the discs?
