archiving the pst file

Hi,
I have few doubts on working on PST files. I need to know archiving the
PST file will reduce the size on the Hard disk. Or we need to manually
compact the PST file for reducing the size.

Outlook will automatically compact .pst files, given enough empty space to
compact and enough down time on the machine (TIP: Don't use a screen saver).

Hello,

Archiving does not not compress pst files. This would need to be done by
using the compress feature available under properities. I would also
recommend not letting the pst get over 800mb as beyond that issue are more
prevelant.
