I cannot access any posts from page 6 to 75 of this forum. Is there any
archive of this forum anywhere that I can search? Looking specifically
for posts relating to OS X 10.2.x authenticating against a Windows
2000 AD server with SSL enabled.

Thanks,

You can always search the archive in google groups.

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-
1&q=active+directory&btnG=Google+Search&meta=group%3Dmicrosoft.public.win2000.
macintosh

or the tinyURL version ...
http://tinyurl.com/q1th

But Bill Smith's link pretty much cover everything there is that is available
atm on the subject ... I would strongly recommend chatting to the guys at
MacOSXLabs.org .. and watching a few of their archived webcasts too ...

I've still not got it working either, but i will have more time on my hands
in the next 3 weeks and hope to have something running by Mid-November at the
latest .... just in time to change it all for Panther. ;-)

Tony,

Thanks for the Info and links. I'm very familiar with macosxlabs.org
and it's the first place I go to to check for new info. I've watched a
number of the webcasts, even submitted questions that got answered!
:)
Unfortunately I can't wait for the Panther release as we switched to a
'UniPrint' system in our public labs which requires AD authentication
for the print server. I lose printing capabilities on my macs on 10/15 if
I don't have this figured out by then!

We are going down the route of ADmitMac to start with ...

I have had limited success with AD integration so far (Kerberos worked for a
whole day in the test setup ... and then failed after patching to 10.2.6)
and so have most people I have spoken to about this.

If you are feeling brave you could always try MacAdmin3 from Hi-Resolution,
but be warned that although it is in commercial release from now (after some
hefty beta testing) there are a number of people that still have repeated
issues, principally due to them having to build the APIs from scratch (again
.... thanks Apple!)

But there are many places that have it running quite happily.

They have a downloadable trial and the support team are very helpful, the
mailing list is very active.
