For some reason I now get all of my incoming mail into
anInbox in my Archive folders, and not into the Inbox of
my Personal folders. It's annoying. What setting did I
inadvertently change?
Thanks.

You changed the default PST file. Post your Outlook version so someone can
tell you haw to set it back.

Sorry I forgot -- it's Outlook 2000.

Figures. Then you'll need to provide your mail support mode as well. (Line 2

That makes it easier, then:
- Right-click on the root of the Personal folders in the folder pane (View >
Folder List)
- Choose Properties
- Check the "Deliver POP mail" box
- Quit & restart Outlook

Did as instructed, including restarting Outlook. Mail
still goes to Archive folders. Tried same process with
Arvhive folders, but cannot un-click the "Deliver POP
mail" box -- it's shaded. What now?
My email is (e-mail address removed) if that's easier.
Many, many thanks!

List the steps that produced this problem.
List the steps you tried. Were you able to select "Deliver POP mail" for
your Personal Folders? If so, did you get any messages when you restarted
Outlook?

I really can't say what produced the problem. All of a
sudden it was like this. I tried un-installing and re-
installing Outlook at one point, still a problem.
I followed your instructions, but as I said it's still
ending to Arvhive folder Inbox, and the Properties for
Arvhive folers don't allow me to disable the POP mail.
Sorry to be vague, that's the best I know to say.
I'm also running a spam filter -- InBoxer. Maybe I need
to uninstall that, uninstall Outlook, then reinstall? The
InBoxeer has attached itself to both the Archive and
Personal folders. Can't think of anything else . . .
Thanks.

Try disabling or uninstalling inboxer - uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook
won't help.

It almost sounds like you only have one PST in the profile, or at least
that's what Outlook thinks. I'd try closing Outlook, renaming the
archive.pst and reopening outlook. It should fuss that it can't find it and
will either create a new one or set the other one as default.

Need the answer to my questions about what happens when you check "Deliver
POP Mail" to Personal Folders. Can you check the box? If so, what happens
when you restart Outlook? Any messages?
Next thing to try is to change the Delivery location, exit Outlook, then
reboot. You may have an add-in that is preventing Outlook from exiting
completely, so it is not getting reset.

Note: I'd try this first since it is less disruptive to your Outlook
profile. After that, try what Diane suggests. IMO is tricky because it does
not permit easy repairs of a corrupted profile the way the full version of
Outlook does.

I finally got it to work. Apparently the problem was that
when I checked the POP box under Properties, and
restarted Outlook, it wasn't really closing the
application -- it was still listed as a process in the
Windows Task Manager (I'm using Win XP). In fact, it
showed Outlook running two separate instances.
I closed both instances of Outlook. I then uninstalled
InBoxer, reinstalled InBoxer, and restarted Outlook.
Everything is now fine.
Thanks to both of you for your kind and generous help!!!!
