my Outlook 2000 archive file has just expanded to 250mb plus, even after
removing attachments and comacting it. I suspect it contains multiple copies
of itself. I had a similar problem some time ago, unfortunately I have lost
the "fix", can anyone help please.

Go for the easy way out; create a new pst-file and then move the folders by
hand to from the old to the new pst-file.

Tips of the month:
-What do the Outlook Icons Mean?
-Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1

Thanks for the suggestion, I have tried that but I now have 2 pst files which
are enormous - 240 mb plus which seems excessive.
Sorry for not acknowledging earlier, I had ticked the "notify me of replies
box" but didn't get anything.

250 Mb is not "enormous" for a PST. PSTs for Outlook 2000 can be up to
eight times larger than that.
