archival quality of Canon photo ink

Epsom and HP are quick to say that their inks will last 70 years plus,
but Canon is not so quick to give that information. I am interested
in the length of time that my photos will last in a protected place.
Does anyone have information that could help me make a printer choice?
I do like the quality of the Canon prints and my camera is a canon.
Thanks.

There is a table in the Cheap Ink article.

Why are you interested in how long your photos will last? It is not
important. If you print some photos now but after six and a half years you
look at them again and they have faded, print the ****ers again using fresh
paper. end of story. now **** off and think of something else to write to
this stupid group about.

Your articulate use of the English language is as remarkable and a
reflection of the state of your cabbage brain.
Photos are gifted and sold no doubt - some are signed and become valuable:
relatives far off who have family albums hoarded away.
They would prefer that any snapshot doesn't fade I expect...?
Quite apart from that your contribution would have been more effective left
unsaid.

Well said! Of course longevity is important! Why in the world would
anyone buy third party ink knowing that the photos may last no more
than a third what quality inks would last? Is it the ink and paper
cost? Where is the savings if you must re-print many of your photos
and the ones you do print have color balance problems? To each his
own but if cost is too much to print your own then why not just go to
(or mail to) Walmart and have your 4X6 pics printed for 24 cents each
and they will last ~80 years! Or go to Rite Aid or other sources who
use Kodak products that will last 20 to 60 years for ~29 cents per 4X6
photo. I have seen these stores run specials where you get the first
ten photos for a penny a piece or a second set of photos for an
additional penny. If the hobby is too expensive then you have
alternatives without sacrificing quality OR longevity!

Looks like "blind bob" is missing a few other faculties. Dirty mouth
seems to work though.
