When I try to type numbers in arabic, it does it in
english, whereas alphabets come properly in arabic. Any
clue.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but aren't english and arabic numerals the same?
That is the numerals 0-9 ARE arabic numerals.

No, the numerals typically used with Arabic are called Arabic-Indic digits
to distinguish them from the "Arabic" (now often called ASCII, Latin, or
European) digits used with English and many other Eurpoean scripts. You
can see them in http://www.unicode.org/charts/PDF/U0600.pdf, in the column
headed 066 on the second page.
