Hi,

For inputing text in foreign language IME input method editor is required.
As its working fine in word, it might be already installed on the system.
set default input editor as arabic by clicking the icon on the task bar.
plz check on internet explorer , view menu and then encoding.

you may also set the language in Internet Explorer: on windows xp
1. Open Internet Explorer.
2. Click Tools menu and click Internet Options.
3. In the General tab, click Languages button.
4. In the Language Preference dialog, Click Add button to add Arabic to the
language list. Select this option and click "Move Up" to
move this option to the top.

Hope this helps

I have the same problem that Ali has, the encoding is correctly pointing to arabic windows. The language solution you proposed didn't help, I guess it is for the priority of page display and not for typing on explorer.

Hi,
Which version of windows, office & IME is being used?

Microsoft is now offering two Global IMEs—Global IME 5.02 and Global IME
for Office XP.

By launching any language version of Word 2000, Internet Explorer 5.01 or
greater, or Outlook® Express—then selecting Global IME 5.02 from the
taskbar, you can write the language you choose.

However assuming you have windows xp,

To Turn Text Services On or Off:
To turn text services on or off (using Classic view in Control Panel):
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional and
Language Options.
On the Languages tab, under Text services and input languages, click
Details.
Under Preferences, click Language Bar.
To turn text services off, select the Turn off advanced text services check
box.
To turn text services on, clear the check box.
Click Yes if you are prompted to confirm your selection.

following gives good information in this context:
