upload your scores to the site and compare with your peers.

That's about what I got, before I adjusted my memory timings. I have an
almost identical system with the exception of a slower motherboard. After
adjusting memory timings, score went up to 46,000

Tighten up your memory timings, as far as they'll go. Be prepared to clear
CMOS, when you find the settings that are too aggressive for your memory.

Yes, that's more like stock 9700 Pro score. Update your Catalyst drivers.
3.1 is very old.

3.1 is different to 3.10 - 3.10 is the tenth revision of v3, 3.0 or 3.1 the
first. 3.1,3.2,......,3.8,3.9,3.10...4.0

Yes i'am sure !! ( but I'am new with ATI )
CATALYST Windows XP 3.10

Thats right, they are 3.10 version drivers not 3.1. ATI's numbering
convention is not decimal. It means this driver is version 10 from 2003 ie
(200)3.10

In January the new driver will be 4.0 or 4.1 as it will be 2004 release 1

someone will no doubt correct any of my errors ;)

Uh he means 3.10 specifically but the thing that I don't understand is why
they(ATI) didn't go with 4.0 rather than 3.10 where the obvious confusion is
here...

No confusion at all.....if you had read the entire thread where you would
have discovered why it isn't 4.0 and is 3.10

Les buddy, who's the clueless one here, look at the time/date stamp of posts
here and then maybe you'll get it ;) I was referring to LeeB18509's
reference to the original poster's listing of the 3.10's as 3.1 and oh BTW
I doubt the year has anything to do with the numbering scheme, good try
though enjoy...

Les

Yes, the date/time stamp of your post was 2 days after LeeB18509's and also
2 days after mine which what I refered you to, your point is?

Dude, visit www.rage3d.com/forums and ask in there about the numbering
scheme. It has been explained many times in the forums by the people who
actually create the drivers. In fact go here http://tinyurl.com/2s477 read
it, it has some of the explanation there.

So in reference to who is the clueless one here, well, its pretty obvious
really isn't it?

My apologies Les, clueless I am for missing the 12/27 post of yours but you
frankly should've supplied this link in that post, which I'm in the process
of wading through now, some good reading I must admit, as it would've made
things a bit more clear at the time. I was merely stating in my original
12/29 post the obvious confusion between 3.1 and 3.10, ATI needs to get
their act together frankly as the 3.10 is IMHO a bad set, I personally
enjoyed the stability and fast CAT 3.7's which I currently run.

Don't worry about it was nothing personal :)

I am using the DNA 3.10 drivers, they have been good to me so far, although
I am only playing Prince Of Persia:ST, NFS:U and SW:KOTOR.
