Once you have created an appointment with a 'Contact' through 'Outlook', how
do you know when you look at the v-card that you made that aptmt? Where is
that information?

First of all, Outlook doesn't store contact data in vCards. vCards are used
only for exchanging contact data with other people.

If you created the appointment by opening a contact and then using the
Actions | New Appointment with Contact command, you should see the contact
name at the bottom of the open appointment. Double-click it to open the
contact record.

I was hoping for the reverse. Having a contact, can I find all the
appointments?

Yes, you can find all the appointments by switching to the contact's
Activities tab.
