Hello everyone,
I have a situation with at least three systems at a client's office. When
they login it takes exactly 1 minute 45 seconds for the "applying your
personal setting" screen to disappear and the desktop to load on these three
machines. The other 4 in the office are fine.
The machine is receiving an event id 1053 in the log "Windows cannot
determine the user or computer name". I discovered that a user profile is
not being created on the local machine when this happens. All computer are
running Windows XP with the latest hotfixes and DNS is setup the same on all
machines. I have tried leaving and joining the domain.
I searched the knowledgbase and found article Q329457 about the critical
section leak. Does anyone have any other thoughts on this message?
Thanks,
Bryan
