Applying your personal settings take long...

Guest

I have 4 WinXP Pro (SP1) and 3 Win2000 Pro (SP4) clients in a Windows 2000
Server (SP4) Network using Active Directory. Whenever any of the WinXP
clients log into the domain, 'Applying your personal settings..' takes about
3 minutes. The Win2000 clients log in with no delay.

Any help would be nice!

DNS set up properly? All servers and workstations should specify *only* the
internal AD-integrated DNS server's IP address in their network settings.
The AD-integrated DNS server should be set up with forwarders to your ISP's
DNS servers for external resolution. See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;300202 for more
info.

Using roaming profiles? If so, how big are the profiles? You aren't letting
users roam between OS versions, if you use roaming profiles, are you?
