applying slide layout problem

Hi all,
I just reinstalled Office 2003 (I did a full install) on a freshly installed
copy of windows xp professional and I have made sure I have all the Office
updates and windows updates.
I am creating a new power point and when I go to select a new slide a new
slide pops up and the apply slide layout side bar comes up, but there isn't
any of the layout options showing up in it. If I take my mouse and run it
over the area little block appear as if it is hilighting the selected layout
but I cannot see the layout unless I click in the area and apply it to the
main slide. This is also happening to the design templates as well.
Is there something that I need to change so that I can see the design
templates and the layouts in the side panel? I've been unsuccessful rooting
around online or the help files in office.

P.S. this also became an issue with my Office 2002 products at work where
only half of the stuff would show up at any given time. So I'm guessing it
has to do with one of the updates. No one there knows what is going on
either as I appear to be the only one affected so far.

Hi,

Sounds like an issue with your display or video drivers. Have you updated
video drivers?
