Apply a Design Template

Hello! Freinds:

When I choose a new template to apply by clicking on the arrows, I see these
options: "Apply to ALL Slides" and "Apply to Selected Slides". None of these
options will change my template when clicked on.

However, a third option now appears when I click the arrow again: "Apply to
Master". And I click on "Apply to All Slides", only then my template changes
to the new one.

Questions: (1) Why the "Apply to Master" option did not appear at first?
(2) What actually are the correct steps to change my template?

The master slide governs the look of all slides based on it. Apply to
Selected Slides should add a new master and apply it to the slides you
selected. Seems something odd is happening there. I'd suspect there's
something strange about the way your master was set up in the first place,
and PPT isn't dealing with it well when you apply the design to the slides.
So if applying the look to the slide master works, go for it.

You could try apply to selected slides, then reset/reapply the layouts for
the selected slides. Sometimes that works if you've applied a lot of manual
formatting to the slides in question.
