Applications output...

Is there a way to manage running applications from the Windows 2000 console?
I want to output the "Applications" tab under windows task manager (not the
processes tab) to a text file. It would even be better if I could get a
status of it such as "Not Responding".

Thanks

The "Applications" list is a subset of the running programs and lists
for the most part only visible application windows. Not very useful
IMO as much is running that is not shown there.

However, have you tried TLIST.EXE available in the W2K Support Tools
(installable from the W2K CD)? It may give you what you want in that
is does list some windows Titles. It does not indicate "Not
responding" though. Try tlist and Richie's solution to see it either
or both fit your need.

There are many tools to list (and kill) processes from a command-
line. Most do not indicate a window Title at all, just the process
name" and ID.
