i am new to this group... i have a system with XP os and 256MB RAM and
80 GB harddisk.
Actually i installed a reliable Antivirus to my system and scanned my
sytem . During that time it showed a message "VIRUS DETECTED" for many
applications (like Windows movie maker, realone) .so i chose the option
"HEAL".After that i discovered that the application for which i chose
HEAL doesnt work .

so can you guys help me on this matter...........

Normaly this mean that the Anti-virus take the Virus with application into
it's chest, meaning Quarantine.
If you want the File/Pro/Apps back, you could go to the Quaraentine and
Right click the Apps and Select clean, please don't open the App just Right
click be warned you could reinfect yourself again if you opened the Apps.
Then when the AV finished you will be given a message that the Cleaning
process is Successful or otherwise.
Go to the App and open it, if the AV cleaned and restore the App to its
default without the virus Strings and Values been injected to it it will open
and work if the Virus corrupt the App, you need to reinstall the App from
scratch.
Also I will incline to do Malware Scan as the AV just scanned for Viruses
not Malwares.
HTH.
Please let us know if you need further help or explanation.
Regards,
nass
