I have not been able to find a resolution to this anywhere else.

In Messenger the application sharing and white board do not work, apparently
this is a problem with the NAT you have installed.

My questions are,
What is the NAT?
How do you upgrade it?
Where do you get it from?
How do you configure it?

Greetings mls,

NAT stands for Network Address Translation/Translator. This typically refers to Internet
sharing and routers. In this case, in order for Application sharing or the Whiteboard to
work, any NAT (if you're using one) must support Universal Plug and Play (UPnP). In the case
of routers, a large number of router manufacturers now support UPnP either already built-in
(you may just need to turn it on in the router configuration) or via a firmware update at the
router manufacturers website.

Here's a fun Q then, why doesn't the NAT in RRAS in Win2003 have UPnP?
