How do I correct this problem, it locks up the machine and I have to reboot.

Hi,

When does this error occur? And can you trace which application cp.exe is related to, by searching for the file, right-clicking and viewing the properties?

This a point of sale machine, the error occurs at the end of a transaction -
it only occurs when we have a weigh scale device attached thru a serial port
- using opos drivers on win xp pro sp1. cp.exe is the point of sale
software that is running - an application. Software by ECR software compnay
called catapult POS software. Run a server with a database thru a lan.
