There may be a bug in IE6 that prevents an applet from loading. The error
message is "Load: <class file path> not found". Is there a known patch which
addresses this?
The applet in question is a very simple one which runs properly in Netscape
7.1.
Thanks
Gord

Tried to awaken IE6 with Sun Java but no luck. Might as well stop thinking
about putting applets on web pages as the average user will not be able to
see them. Too bad.
Gord.

Perhaps poor choice of words maybe? ........
However, if the user is WinXP with SP1, java no longer
functions without installing the Sun version.

Yes, I'm running XP SP1/IE6 but although I have JRE1.4 on my machine (as
part of JBuilderX), I cannot get IE6 to use it, apparently. I tried to use
the Control Panel|Java dialog box to activate it but to no avail. This is
strange because the Java dialog allows me to clearly specifiy the path to
the JRE.

Gord,
If you are running IE 6 SP1\XP, java (applets) are no longer supported.
Install Sun JAVA
