I have a small network of PCs and one PowerMac, I have
networked all the PCs fine. I am trying to create a
folder on the PC so that the Mac will see it, when I ping
the IP address of the Mac it replys, is there something
to do with the sharing setup of the folder, or am I
totally missing the point.

If the Mac is running OS X Apple has a pretty good readme
on how to get the machines talking at

If the Mac is pre-OS X you'll need a third-party
application line Connectix' Virtual PC to get them to
talk to each other.
