Append query

I took over a mess of a so-called database and was wonding if anyone ever
tried to add fields to an existing query and the results wont so the fields I
added. However they did go into the grid. What is the problem or am I doing
somethig worng?
 
Du! the database was open. I thought it was strange. Please ignor this post
