Anyway to restore window sizes after RDP access ??

Synapse Syndrome

When I access my desktop machines remotely, using my laptop, the window
sizes and positions get messed up. This is because I have large CRT
montiors running at QXGA resolution, and my laptop's screen is only XGA.
The icons also get messed up, but I have a fix for that.

Is there anything that will make the windows restore to the size they were
before?

I don't think so.
It's the same effect as if you would change the screen resolution at
the physical console of your desktop computer, open some windows and
then change the resolution back again. That would also mix up icon
and windows placements.
