There is no sign of development of an SP3 at this time. Patches are
developed in response to vulnerabilities as they are discovered. As Windows
is the most widely used OS in the consumer market, it is also the one that
most writers of exploits concentrate on. The more they discover, the more
patches that are created. Should Linux or Mac overtake the OS market, the
same thing would happen to them.
I appreciate the responses, Carey and Rick, but I wasn't necessarily
thinking of a service pack, just a rollup patch as MS has released many
times in the past when the number of patches available gets a little
unwieldy.
They're just doing a rollup for windows 2000. I don't think you'll
see a XP rollup for some time.
