Hi,

Please god someone help me fix my new Xp Pro installation
as it's driving me mad. Just built new machine installed Xp
Pro ok but then it says there is an error with the lsa
shell and Windows must shut down and restart. It does this
all the time.

I reckon it may be the new video card I installed as the
driver for it seems to be causing problems. Does this sound
plausible? I have no real idea what lsass.exe does. How can
I fix this? Would I have to contact the video card
manufacturer for advice do you think? Thanks in advance.
Argghhhh!!

The exact error message would be helpful?

LSASS.EXE is the Local Security Authority Sub-System. Essentially, it's the
file that gives you the ability to log on to XP. If it can't start you can't
get in. You might try starting in Safe Mode and running SFC /SCANNOW to
replace any missing or changed system files.

While in Safe Mode, check the eventvwr.msc for any arror messages.
