Anyone familiar with Dynex DX-CRD12

Hi,

I'm looking for a memory card reader that I can mount in a 5.25" bay,
mainly to read SD cards.

Bestbuy has the Dynex DX-CRD12 "internal" reader:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...eader&lp=5&type=product&cp=1&id=1149206642856

and the description says:

"Easy to install; fits into a standard 3.5" or 5.25" drive bay to save
desktop space; access from the front of your PC directly"

It looks like the reader itself is a 3.5" form factor, and I was
wondering if anyone has used this and, in particular, knows if this
really comes with the parts needed to mount into a 5.25" bay (with black
faceplate)?

Thanks,
Jim

Hi,

Answering my own post here, for the record:

That memory card reader is a 3.5" (floppy drive-size) form factor/width.
I had to go out and get a 3.5"-to-5.25" bay adapter, and just got it
all installed.

I'm fortunate that we have a MicroCenter locally, and used this bay adapter:

FYI, the reader comes with a 5-pin connector that you plug directly into
one of the USB2 pin headers on the mobo (i.e., doesn't plug into one of
the external USB2 connectors like some other "internal" card readers).
