Anybody knows how to reset Canon S630 waste ink error?

Hi

I am new to this kind of problem. My printer stopped working I thought
it was dead. I reloaded the drivers to no avail, then clean the head
to no avail. So I went on the Canon USA site and found out that my
printer was blinking 8 times and that is a "Waste ink nearly full
error".
I researched that online and found this link:

http://www.neilslade.com/Papers/inkjetstuff11.html

Where he tells you how to reset Canon S printers. I did follow his
steps and the printer stopped blinking and the green light came on
while the head was moving inside the printer and that was it, shortly
after 8 orange blinks resumed.
I have tried 3 times even unplugging the printer and removing the USB
connection, to no avail.
What has to be done now short of trashing it and getting a new one?
Anybody knows how to get to that waste ink and clean it as suggested
by that site again, it seems hard to do?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks a lot

Patrick
