Any way to retrieve my product key through DOS?

Well, if my computer is screwed, and I cannot boot to my WINXP,
is there a possible way to retrieve my product key of XP from DOS screen in
order to reinstall my Windows? I can't find my product key sticker on my
computer. I know there is a way for WIN98, but I'm not sure whether it can
be done under WINXP.

Not possible in Windows XP. It's encrypted.

Your only options are to contact the vendor where you purchased XP. If this
was pre-installed on the system when you bought it, contact the company
where you bought it from or look on the computer case for a sticker with the
product key. If this was a retail version, purchased at a store, contact
Microsoft for help using the address that Carey posted.

I have heard of a tool from the people/person that made Magical Jelly Bean
KeyFinder that will allow you to extract your Windows XP key from a Slave
Drive. I have also heard of people using it along with BartPE/WinPE to grab
keys from machines in situations where your original Windows XP partition
will not boot, but the drive contents may still be intact.

If Windows XP still boots, then you may be able to retrieve your cd key
using the Magical Jelly Bean KeyFinder.

Perhaps one of those two products will give the OP what they need.
