Any scheduled release date for .NET Framework 2.0?

Only kidding. right now there is no set date for the release. First half of
2005 is a good range, although the bits look fairly solid and may be 1Q 2005.

Is it the general rule of thumb that the 2.0 Framework and the various
VS2005 products will be RTM on the same day, or will the 2.0 Framework be RTM
before the VS2005 products?

nobody knows for 2.0/2005, but in past
the RTM build of VS.NET (incl. new Framework) was first available
for download to MSDN (Universal) Subscribers.
The public download for the Framework Runtime/SDK was some ~days/weeks~ later.
